Our doors are open to everyone
Welcome to the Downtown Islamic Center, a vibrant community in the heart of Chicago, open to people of all faiths and backgrounds. Come for the daily prayers, Friday prayers, or to learn more about Islam.
Prayer times
Today at DIC
DIC hosts all five daily prayers, following local Chicago prayer times. Visitors are welcome to quietly observe any prayer and may ask volunteers or staff for guidance.
First time?
For interfaith and first-time visitors
DIC regularly welcomes guests from schools, universities and community organizations who want to learn more about Islam and Muslim practice.
Dress modestly
Cover shoulders and knees. Women may bring a headscarf if they wish.
Shoes off
Remove your shoes before entering the prayer area. There are racks by the door.
Observe quietly
You are welcome to watch any prayer. Sit at the back and ask us anything afterwards.
Photos
Photography is welcome in non-prayer areas. Please don't photograph people praying.

Metered. Pay at the meter boxes at all times. - Wabash lot, south of Congress
3 hours for $6. No coupon needed. - 17 E. Adams garage (Adams & Wabash)
Up to 12 hours for $12 with a coupon from the manager's office.
Please note: We are open 10 AM – 6 PM and for all five daily prayers. Outside those hours, our doors open 10 minutes before each prayer and close at the iqama time.
